We had a great Vietnam game with the gentleman Hese at the Warhead's excellent venue. He was commading US forces, I had control of Vietcong and NVA forces. Juha was the Gamemaster. US troops had a good start and everything was going smooth, but then normal Vietnam situation happened. Their helping Beret troops walked to a spike board trap and Vietcong counter attack downed all Navy seals. Suddenly, US intelligence mission had turned into a resque mission. in the end lot of US troops was severly wounded but they got their mission done after all.
I played hard and hit US forces with every nasty Vietcong tactic I had learned during the Ropecon demo games. This was causing real heat for the US and Hese had to play under pressure which makes game more fun. It also helps to learn the FonF rules. In Force on Force you need to stay in cover, support your movement with other troops, focus your fire power to few targets and most of all remember the mission. Play for the objective, don't count the casualties. In short 6 round games you need to move from the begining if you wnat to succees in the mission, which means taking risks. To sum it up, it creates a fast paced action game.
Great evening, many thanks Hese and Juha!
